About Our Farm

Banks of lower pondThe Keys Family, Arthur, Jasna, Nataša, Alex and Hannah purchased the farm in 2005 and continue to make major improvements. Our family has deep roots in Washington County and in the village of Lone Pine.

The farm was homesteaded in 1785 by Solomon Sibbett, the great, great, great, great grandfather of Arthur Keys. He built our stone farm house and old spring house in 1807. The farmstead is intact and remained in the possession of the descendents of Solomon Sibbett for most of its history.

Our mission is to provide quality and healthy food and agricultural products to our customers using accepted organic methods that enhance the soil, pasture, water and woodlands on our farm, protect the environment, respect the livestock, and support a vibrant rural economy and community.

Pleasant Valley Organic Farm is a growing agricultural enterprise that fills a need for organically raised products. We are one of three organically certified farms in our county. Our farm is certified organic by Pennsylvania Certified Organic, www.paorganic.org, and we are members of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, www.pasafarming.org. We have a growing and satisfied customer base. All members of the family are involved in farm operations and we have additional assistance from our cousins and other helpers.
